# Connect and use TikTok Ads

> Connect TikTok Ads to Nerve, confirm the correct account or property, and start with a scoped read-only request before broader analysis.

Connect TikTok Ads to inspect advertiser accounts, campaign structure, and performance. Campaigns contain ad groups and ads; keep these levels separate when asking for a breakdown.

## Before you connect

Use a TikTok identity with access to the advertiser you want. Have the advertiser name ready, along with the reporting period and business goal.

## Connect and verify

1. In the intended workspace, open **Get started > Connect accounts**.
2. Find **TikTok Ads** and choose **Connect**.
3. Complete the provider sign-in and review the permissions shown. Select an identity with access to the intended advertiser account.
4. Back in Nerve, check the connection status and use **Verify** if available.
5. Ask your assistant to list accessible TikTok advertisers before requesting a report.

## What to ask Nerve

The tool catalogue includes campaign, ad group, ad, reporting, identity, and asset operations. For creative work, the available identity and assets matter as well as the advertiser. Ask the assistant to inspect these requirements before proposing a new ad.

```text theme={null}
For TikTok advertiser Example Brand, summarize campaigns and ad groups
for the last 7 complete days. Show spend, clicks, and available lead
or purchase results. Identify the result metric and currency.
Only read data; do not change campaigns or budgets.
```

## Check scope and limits

If the connection stays at Connecting, check whether your browser opened or blocked a provider window. Retry in a browser that allows the authorization handoff, then inspect the connection status. Do not assume an empty report means the advertiser has no campaigns; verify advertiser, dates, and status filters.

If the expected account is missing, use [connection troubleshooting](https://docs.nerve.mattemena.com/support-and-privacy/connection-problems.md). For expired access, see [Check or reconnect an account](https://docs.nerve.mattemena.com/connections/connection-status.md).
