# Connect and use X Ads

> Connect X Ads to Nerve, confirm the correct account or property, and start with a scoped read-only request before broader analysis.

Connect X Ads to inspect advertising accounts, campaigns, line items, and available performance data. Line items are the ad-group-like level beneath a campaign.

## Before you connect

Use an X identity with access to the advertising account. Have the account name, reporting dates, and objective ready.

## Connect and verify

1. In the intended workspace, open **Get started > Connect accounts**.
2. Find **X Ads** and choose **Connect**.
3. Complete the provider sign-in and review the permissions shown. Select an identity with access to the intended advertising account.
4. Back in Nerve, check the connection status and use **Verify** if available.
5. Ask your assistant to list accessible X advertising accounts before requesting a report.

## What to ask Nerve

Live discovery returned account and campaign lookup, line items, insights, funding instruments, targeting criteria, and promoted-content information. Begin with an account and campaign inventory, then ask for a supported insight breakdown.

## Check scope and limits

A campaign and a line item are separate levels, so ask the assistant to label both. Large lists may require additional pages; ask whether all results were retrieved. Funding-instrument inspection does not authorize a billing change. Check current tools before requesting creation, budget updates, or other writes.
